Kadha|herbal tea|ayurvedic drink |spice kashayam|immunity booster step-by-step detailed explanation with photos and video.
Kadha or 'karha' is essentially an Ayurvedic drink made with a number of herbs and spices that are boiled usually in water to extract their benefits.
Our ancient traditional drink emerged as a favorite drink of my family during this corona pandemic because of its immune-boosting properties. As the covid 19 pandemic emerged we are totally confused about how to escape from this pandemic even though we are following hygienic procedures. By reading so many books, articles, and posts on social media we understand that apart from following Hygenic procedures, we must boost our immunity. Since then we focused on having food or drink which have immune-boosting properties.
We included a lot of vitamin c rich foodstuffs like gooseberry (amla), orange, berries. We prepared homemade healthy drink powder using some spices, and the key ingredient in the drink powder was coriander. I have prepared and stored it for 2 to 3 weeks. I have prepared it by boiling the powder by adding some jaggery and at the end some milk. We stopped using the white crystallized refined sugar and turned to healthy sugar alternatives.
If you want to know more about sugar alternatives and how to prepare homemade dates sugar please watch my video on my youtube channel named DKP'S Kitchen.
Now the covid 19 emerged again with his horrible face, we need to be more conscious about our health. The only way to fight against these infectious diseases is to strengthen our immune system.
In this post, I would like to share an immune-boosting herbal drink recipe with you. It is a 5-minute ayurvedic kadha recipe. Though every family has a different way of making kadha, the ingredients of the kadha remain the same. Most people use basil or tulsi leaves in kadha preparation since we are living in Norway it is a little difficult to access tulsi leaves, hence I used mint leaves instead of tulsi.
